Best Practices for Recording Faceted Chronological Data in Bibliographic Records

Research output: Contribution to conferencePresentation

Abstract

The ALA Subject Analysis Committee's Subcommittee on Faceted Vocabularies (SSFV) has released a new set of best practices for recording faceted chronological data in bibliographic records (using MARC 046 and 388 fields). This data is intended to supplement other chronological data in bib records, such as dates of publication and chronological data incorporated into subject headings. Casey Mullin (WWU), SSFV chair, will introduce the best practices, give background/context, and cover major points addressed in this robust document.
