Professor, Department of Chemistry

    Personal profile

    About

Patrick specializes in surface and materials chemistry, ordered molecular systems, and organic thin films. His recent work, supported by nearly $3M in external grants over the past 10 years, includes investigations of thermotropic liquid crystal solvents, studies of deposition and growth mechanisms in organic thin films, and the development of nanostructured fluorescent materials for solar energy applications. Patrick’s educational activities focus on the involvement of undergraduates in research and teaching in the areas of analytical, physical and general chemistry.
