    About

I am a Professor of Political Science at Western Washington University. I teach courses on international political economy, comparative political economy, political economy theory, development, globalization, and international relations.
My research is presently focused on assessments of transitional justice measures, such as if and how transitional justice affected the creation of trustworthy public institutions, a trustworthy state, and interpersonal trust in post-communist countries. In particular, I am examining if and how lustration (regional employment vetting procedures) and truth commissions have supported the process of democratization in the post-communist space.

More generally, I have also published on trade policy issues affecting post-communist countries.
