    About

    Casey A. Mullin is Head of Cataloging and Metadata Services at Western Washington University Libraries. He formerly served as Music Cataloger at the New York Public Library and as Head of Data Control for the Stanford University Libraries. Additionally, he is Managing Partner of the contract cataloging firm Flourish Music Metadata Solutions. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance from Western Washington University and a Master of Library Science from Indiana University Bloomington. He has served as chair of the Music Library Association's Vocabularies Subcommittee and as chair of the Music OCLC Users Group, and is currently serving a two-year term as member-at-large on the MLA Board. 

    Within the American Library Association, Casey has served on the Subject Analysis Committee's Subcommittee on Genre Form Implementation and currently chairs its successor group, the Subcommittee on Faceted Vocabularies. A longtime contributor to the NACO-Music Project and BIBCO Music Funnel, he also currently serves PCC as member-at-large on the Policy Committee and as BIBCO Music Funnel Coordinator. 

    Outside of librarianship, Casey is active as a freelance violist, violinist, pianist, arranger, and writer on music.
